Rite Aid 101: Ways to Save

Rite Aid has a ton of programs to help you save money! While this is exciting, it can be a little overwhelming to keep everything straight. Here are all the ways you can save money at Rite Aid:

Wellness+ Card:

Signing up for a Wellness+ Card is free and easy! Just visit RiteAid.com or your local Rite Aid store to receive a card. Then, give your Wellness+ Card to the cashier everytime you check out. The Wellness+ Card allows you to participate in the +UP program and can save you an additional 10% on Rite Aid brand products everyday.

+UP Program:

Each week Rite Aid lists items in the ad that qualify for +UP Rewards. There should also be a shelf tag next to the item specifying the +UP Reward. You will need to use your Wellness+ Card to get the +UP Reward and to redeem the reward. The +UP Reward will print on the bottom of your receipt when you purchase the specific item and quantity.  It is important to note that you do need to purchase all the items in one transaction to qualify for the +UP Reward. You can then use your +UP Reward to pay for your next purchase.  Rite Aid will not adjust the reward down and there is no overage allowed, so you will need to purchase filler items to avoid overage. The +UP Rewards will roll.  This means you can use a Trident +UP Reward to purchase more Trident and still receive another +UP Reward. Rite Aid specifies a +UP Reward limit for select items in the ad.  Other items may have an unknown limit where the +UP Rewards just stop printing after you have hit the limit. However, your store could impose it’s own limit. Most +UP Rewards expire 2 weeks from the  last day of the sale which is Saturday, so if you shop towards the beginning  of the week, you have almost 3 weeks to use your +UP Reward.

Video Values:

Rite Aid has a savings program called Video Values that is updated every month.  To sign up for Video Values you first need to have a Wellness+ online account which you can register for at riteaid.com. Log-in to your Wellness+ account and click on ”Video Values” located on the left hand side of the screen.  Select a video category, for instance “Stock up and Save” and then select the video you wish to watch by clicking the Play button.  Each video is approximately 16 secs to 3 minutes long and you can’t surf the net while playing the video. Every video is about for product you will receive a coupon for. For instance, if you watch a video about Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow, you will earn a Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow coupon. Once the video is over, you will have 30 secs to enter the characters you see on the screen. Print your coupons by clicking on “Rewards” under your selected category. You can only print your coupon ONE time. So, make sure your printer is ready! Another great feature of the Video Values program is that these coupons are Rite Aid coupons and can be stacked with manufacturer coupons!

Coupon Stacking:

Rite Aid has a very liberal multiple coupon stacking policy that allows you to stack manufacturer coupons with Rite Aid coupons. First, it is important to understand the different types of coupons that Rite Aid will stack.

1. Manufacturer Coupons are found in newspapers, magazines and even affixed to products. The UPC on these coupons begins with a “5.”

2. Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupons generally appear in their weekly circular, on their website and are sent to customers via e-mail. These coupons are labeled “manufacturer coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “49.”

3. Rite Aid Valuable Coupons are labeled “variable coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “48.”

Rite Aid’s Coupon Stacking Policy allows more than one coupon can be used on the purchase of a single item under the following conditions:

  • More than one coupon can be used on the purchase of a single item under the following conditions:
    • All coupons match the item being purchased.
    • The total of the coupons is equal to or less than the selling price of the item before sales tax.
  • No more than one “48″ Rite Aid valuable coupon, one “49″ Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one “5″manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item.
  • Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.
BOGO Policy:

Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased.  A customer can use one “cents off” coupon in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item. Buy One Get One Free coupons can NOT be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion.

Single Check Rebates:

Rite Aid has made their Single Check Rebate very easy! Sign up for an account. For this step you don’t even need a Wellness Card. Just your name, e-mail, and address. Browse the rebate items online or in the printed Rebate Directory. Browsing the items online allows you to create a printable shopping list to take to the store with you. Make your purchases and SAVE your register receipt. You need the receipt, not the UPC codes. Enter your receipt information online. There are four different pieces of information to enter from your receipt. Rite Aid has a great picture to show you where the information is located on the receipt.  When finished, click the “Enter Receipt” button. A message will display, click “OK” and you are done. Rite Aid will verify the receipt information you entered and confirm your rebate online. That way, you will receive credit for every rebate item, even if you didn’t know there was a rebate on it! Request your check online, and you will receive a check in the mail in as little as 2 weeks. You may enter as many receipts as you wish during the program period.  However, you are only permitted to request one check per household during the program period for all eligible rebates. The program period generally lasts a month. Another great feature of this program is that you may use coupons to pay for the purchase of the qualifying rebate product(s), and you will still receive the full value rebate!

Load2Card:

This program is very simple and saves your paper and ink costs! Register your Wellness+ card online or Log in to your account. Once you have activated your Wellness+ online account or logged in, you will be taken directly to your Load2Card homepage. Use the dropdown tools located towards the top of the screen to find and sort coupons by product category and/or brand. To add a coupon to your Wellness+ card, click the “clip” button. The coupon will automatically be added to your card within minutes for you to redeem at Rite Aid. To view and manage the coupons currently clipped to your card, click on “My Coupons” located in the navigation menu. You can also ask an associate during checkout. To redeem your coupons, scan your Wellness+ card at checkout. The register will automatically recognize if you’ve loaded coupons for the items you’re buying and print the savings right on your receipt.

In-Ad Coupons:

Rite Aid also includes coupons in their weekly ad.  These are store coupons with the sequence RC49 preceding the numerals under the barcode.  Rite Aid coupon policy calls these “Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupons” but just treat them as store coupons and stack them with manufacturer’s coupons!
